The Opportunity!
At Goodwill Industries of Central Florida, as a Maintenance Technician I, you are expected to perform minor maintenance repairs in stores, donation express, transportation, warehouse, and office facilities. Major duties include pressure washing, maintaining grounds, and assisting in general maintenance repairs.
A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Technician I!
You will find yourself:
- Pressure washing storefronts, receiving docks, sidewalks, and awnings.
- Assisting in performing minor maintenance repairs such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and HVAC filters.
- Repairing shopping carts, bins, and racks.
- Assisting in painting stores and main facility.
- Assisting in maintaining grounds in an attractive condition, protecting plants and trees from damage.
- Following safety procedures when repairing or replacing items as assigned, adhering to and supporting the Organization’s safety and security program.
- Maintaining appropriate dress code including name badge.
Qualifications
Physical and Environmental Work Conditions:
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds independently and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Stooping, bending, kneeling, balancing, crawling, pushing, pulling, and climbing ladders.
- Standing and walking for long periods of time.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
Education and/or Experience:
- High School education or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience with outdoor cleaning, pressure washing, and ground maintenance.
- Ability to work with hand and power tools.
- Experience with painting and performance miscellaneous facility maintenance.
- Ability to respond to and handle assignments and instructions given by supervisor.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Daily use of tablet required for this position.
- Must be able to pass a level 1 background check.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record and current private auto insurance policy
