How You Will Be Successful:
Under the direction of the Team Lead (General Manager), place processed donations in the proper area on the sales floor, sort, box, and label hangers by type. Major duties include maintaining the cleanliness of the sales floor, receiving incoming donations and issuing receipts, greet and assisting donors/customers.
Essential Functions & Duties
- Politely and professionally receive donations from donors and issue donation receipts.
- Sort, hang, price, and color-code garments and wares according to established guidelines.
- Maintain prescribed production levels and rotate stock on a timely basis.
- Present merchandise neatly on appropriate racks and shelves per merchandising standards.
- Assist with textile color rotation following established procedures.
- Keep both the sales floor and production areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Greet customers with a courteous, friendly, and professional attitude.
- Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.
- Direct customers to appropriate departments and provide general information as needed.
- Remain alert to potential shoplifting and report suspicious activity to management.
- Maintain a well-groomed appearance and follow dress code requirements, including wearing a name badge and vest.
Qualifications
- Ability to listen, follow directions, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of garment types and categories (e.g., shirts, pants, gowns).
- Ability to work at a consistent pace to meet production goals.
- Previous experience in retail, donation processing, or merchandise presentation is a plus.
Additional Functions/Duties
- Refer all customer complaints to management on time.
- Answer the telephone promptly using established etiquette procedures.
- Follow Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) procedures and other Public Protection Guidelines.
- React calmly and respond to emergencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
- Pass a background/drug screen upon employment
Special Conditions of Employment
- Regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Standing and walking for long periods.
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push and pull.
- Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side and the ability to lean and remove garments from containers.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
