What You’ll Do:
- Able to work with soiled, dirty items. *
- Loads, unloads and moves materials within warehouse using appropriate material handling equipment (hand truck, pallet jack, forklift-only if they have successfully passed forklift certification). *
- Unloads trucks, trailers, bins and donation carts, moving materials to designated warehouse staging areas.*
- Sorts, grades and separates product into appropriate categories for future processing or recycling.*
- Discards items that are broken or not considered for recycling. *
- Keeps like items containerized, labeled and in appropriate locations as outlined.
- Operates tipper to load textile materials into baling machine, may hand load from rolling bins or gaylords. *
- Operates baling machines using established guidelines. *
- Removes bale from baling machine and places it in designated area using bale hand truck or forklift. *
- Keeps daily record of number of bales produced. *
- Loads bales or other salvage materials onto salvage truck utilizing forklift. *
- Maintains a neat and organized workstation, warehouse and dock area. *
- Assists in keeping the work area free from debris, sweeping the work areas as needed and at the end of the day. *
- May be responsible for staffing a donation center or assisting with corporate donations and home pickups according to established guidelines.
- May assist with donations into company vehicles, store deliveries, home pickups, bin switch outs or corporate donation drives.
- Throws away trash as needed in a proper manner.
- Adheres to safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Team member Handbook and Safety Manual.*
- Fully understands and adheres to all organizational policies and procedures, abiding by them consistently.*
- Performs general janitorial duties and other tasks as may be assigned.
- Reports known or suspected security and/or theft problems to a member of management. *
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills that are a must:
- High School diploma preferred.
- Training will be on-the-job. Previous material handling experience is preferred.
- Ability to work 100% of scheduled hours onsite.
- Must be capable of learning specific operating procedures for various material handling machines.
- Must be able to work without close supervision and be honest and dependable.
- Must be able to operate the forklift with appropriate certification.
- Must be able to follow instructions and discriminate between specified items.
- Must be capable of completing daily production logs.
- Must be able to safely handle heavy objects.
- This position is hourly, non-exempt and starts at $13 / hour plus quarterly performance based bonuses.
- Must be able to adhere to our attendance policy. We’re a retail environment with retail hours, which can include nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Most of our stores are open Monday – Saturday 10AM - 8PM and Sunday 1PM – 6PM, so no late night shifts!
- Part-time positions are up to 28 hours per week (can include weekends and evenings).
- Full-time positions are based on a 40-hour work week and open availability is required (includes weekends and evenings).
