What You’ll Do:
- The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for assisting the Store Manager with the operation of a retail store and donation center in accordance with GICNC’s established operating procedures as outlined in the Retail Operations Standard Operating Procedures manual (ROSOP).
- You will manage and direct store personnel to meet the cultural and fiscal objectives supporting the organization’s mission.
- Assistant Store Managers serve as a role model and mentor for all team members, promoting teamwork and exemplary customer service, and provide excellent customer service and exhibit great employee relations skills.
- Greet customers with a smile and positive attitude.
- Perform opening and closing duties based on your schedule.
- Manage cashiers, donation attendants, hangers, and other team members – and perform their duties as needed.
- Accurately count money and transport deposits to the bank.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-energy, and busy environment!
Education, Experience, and Skills that are a must:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid NC driver’s license, acceptable driving record, reliable vehicle, own vehicle, adequate vehicle insurance coverage and be able to travel locally on a daily basis.
- Must have a minimum of one year of retail sales experience in a retail management position.
- Must understand the importance of store layout, general in-store marketing and advertising, cash handling and general administrative duties, merchandising and supervisory practices.
- Must have knowledge of retail practices, inventory control and exceptional customer service skills are required.
- Experience guiding and developing team members is preferred.
- Light to medium lifting (up to 25lbs) is frequently required. Stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, standing, reaching, handling, speaking, hearing, carrying, walking, lifting, occasional climbing, good eyesight, and color vision.
- Ability to work 100% of scheduled hours onsite.
Pay Range & Schedule: This position is hourly, non-exempt and starts at $15.50 / hour and depends on store level and experience. Also eligible for quarterly performance-based bonuses.
- Must be able to adhere to our attendance policy. We’re a retail environment with retail hours, which can include nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Most of our stores are open Monday – Saturday 10AM - 8PM and Sunday 1PM – 6PM, so no late night shifts!
- Open availability is required (includes weekends and evenings).
