What are the responsibilities and job description for the GCTA Admissions Supervisor position at Goodwill Industries of Central Texas?
The GCTA Admissions Supervisor supervises and drives the recruitment and admissions management for Goodwill Career and Technical Academy's (GCTA) healthcare, skilled trades, and technical programs. This position is responsible for meeting enrollment and educational goals in alignment with the Texas Workforce Commission, Eligible Training Provider System, and Goodwill Central Texas standards.
The Admissions Manager leads efforts to recruit, screen, and approve potential students while ensuring accurate tracking and maintenance of student information and enrollment documentation. This role requires a professional with exceptional leadership, customer service orientation, strategic planning abilities, flexibility, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with students and community partners. The Admissions Manager must have excellent interpersonal skills, be highly detail-oriented, and demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness and self-motivation.
Strategic Recruitment and Admissions Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans to achieve enrollment goals, including organizing outreach activities, fostering partnerships, and representing GCTA at community events.
- Oversee the admissions process, including interviewing applicants, assessing eligibility, administering entrance exams, and conducting background and reference checks.
- Analyze recruitment and admissions data to measure effectiveness, identify trends, and adjust strategies to ensure continuous growth of the program.
- Ensure all recruitment and admissions activities comply with established quality, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Operational Oversight and Administration
- Supervise admissions team members to ensure exceptional performance and adherence to organizational policies.
- Lead the planning and execution of special events, such as experience days, orientation, and graduations, ensuring seamless delivery.
Collaboration and Relationship Management
- Build and maintain professional, cooperative relationships with stakeholders, including students, staff, and community partners.
- Collaborate across departments to support the mission and goals of the organization.
- Represent GCTA in external partnerships, establishing its presence and value within the community.
Compliance and Confidentiality
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local policies governing admissions and enrollment.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive student and organizational information.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends to meet operational demands.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in related field.
- Demonstrate high degree of professionalism and customer service orientation.
- Proficiency with MS Office Products.
- Effective at multi-tasking, flexible, and adaptable.
- Ability to gather and analyze data to make informed decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort and experience in delivering engaging and impactful presentations to diverse audiences, both internally and externally.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3 years’ experience in recruiting or admissions role.
- Knowledge of TWC Career Schools and Colleges and ETPL requirements.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
