The Youth Outreach Specialist leads outreach efforts of prospective community partners and clients for Goodwill’s Workforce Advancement (WFA) youth services. The Youth Outreach Coordinator communicates WFA’s youth services program offerings with the goal of educating and attracting prospective youth clients and identifying community partners who may benefit from WFA youth programs and services.
The Youth Outreach Specialist develops effective outreach strategies for self and groups that engage in corporate and community organizations and support the referral process for clients. This position works closely with WFA Youth Services objectives for client enrollments. This includes but is not limited to job fairs, community events and participation in community efforts that focus on youth ages 16-24. An emphasis is placed on facilitating unique events with Youth Services team as well as increasing awareness of services via various media.
Role and Responsibilities
- Read grant documentation to gather detailed understanding of grant goals, restrictions related to fund utilization, definition of successful outcomes, identifies operational requirements and milestones, and interprets and defines Goodwill protocols.
- Collaborates with Talent Acquisition, Community Relations and Business Development to identify community partnership opportunities that fulfill the strategic priorities of WFA.
- Develops relationships with community organizations and key business leaders to produce referrals and develop the client pipeline.
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, prioritizes time, utilizes a consultative approach, and possesses a sense of urgency to meet business metrics and objectives.
- Maintains an extensive knowledge of WFA youth programming services and populations served.
- Coordinates with established WFA Outreach Team and Program Enrollment Specialists for recruiting and actively engaging participants, coordinating and tracking events.
- Develops and manages potential candidate pipeline using cost-effective techniques to attract students and partners; understand how to effectively set benchmarks and targets, analyzes data, and understands how to prioritize efforts to meet strategic objectives.
- Establishes and maintains an active list of current partner organizations as well as potential partners.
- Attends and participates in youth-oriented events including nonprofit networking groups, job fairs and community task forces.
- Collaborated with Youth Services team and community partners to lead and create4 youth-oriented events such as but not limited to workshops, job fairs, job shadowing events, lunch-and-learns, etc.
- Develops presentations and collateral to support outreach and marketing / awareness efforts.
- Efficiently and accurately tracks and complies with all Goodwill practices.
- Demonstrates expertise in the effective use of grass roots tools such as : job boards, social media, job fairs and food drives, vaccination clinics, resource fairs, student events and networking meetings.
- Delivers superior customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Collaborates with all Goodwill team members to ensure program goals and objectives are accomplished.
- Regularly communicates recruiting and partnership development successes and challenges to internal stakeholders. Demonstrates ethics and complies with Corporate Compliance Program.
- Completes required trainings.
