Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Instructor to join our Workforce Development Team at Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina. If you are passionate about education and helping individuals reach their full potential, this role offers the opportunity to use your teaching, mentoring, and coaching skills in a new and impactful way. As an Instructor, you will deliver workforce development training, assessments, and counseling services to participants, including those facing significant employment challenges. You will also support our STEM/STEAM initiatives and collaborate closely with the Education team to help participants achieve their employment and learning goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply your teaching and mentoring experience to deliver one-on-one and group workforce coaching sessions for program participants and team members.
- Conduct intake interviews, needs assessments, and regular progress check-ins to guide participants through their learning journey.
- Assist participants with job search strategies, application processes, and overcoming barriers to program completion, much like helping students prepare for future success.
- Maintain and organize participant case files, ensuring compliance with program requirements.
- Collaborate with referring organizations and internal teams, just as you would with faculty and parents, to track participant progress and provide support.
- Facilitate seamless delivery of programs, with opportunities to integrate STEM/STEAM learning objectives into the curriculum.
- Travel to partner sites to provide services and maintain relationships, offering a dynamic and hands-on approach to education beyond the classroom.
- Work independently, adapting to flexible scheduling, including some evenings and weekends, for the benefit of the participants.
Additional Information:
- This position requires travel within the service area, with occasional overnight trips.
- Participation in safety meetings and adherence to organizational safety policies is required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Services, Training and Development, or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant experience in training, workforce development, teaching, or case management.
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills, similar to lesson planning and managing student data.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.43 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
