SUMMARY:
The Job Link Coordinator will assist consumers in applying for jobs on-line, building a resume and providing instruction on how to job search. The Job Link Coordinator will assist individuals by directing them to websites using Goodwill computers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist consumers in creating a resume, filling out job applications and directing them to websites during their job search for career opportunities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Offers individualised placement services. Assist in the development of achievable employment goals.
- Provides documentation of placement progress.
- Assist community members in accessing services at the Job Link Center in completing a resume, conduct computerised job search, apply for community job openings, fill out applications, practice interview skills, and follow-up with employer after interview.
- Responsible for initiating referrals to, and for, community support resources, and maintaining good working relationships with referral agencies.
- Complete reports and all appropriate paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
- Demonstrate excellent work habits for employees, program participants, and community members, maintain a good attitude towards the operation of the entire facility, and being a positive role model for individuals receiving rehabilitation services.
- Assistance with training and direction to all Job Link Center participants.
- Facilitate work readiness workshops.
- Maintain an elevated level of confidentiality regarding individuals receiving services to include employees and community members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree preferred or a combination of education and experience may be substituted for required education.
- Two years experience collaborating with people with disabilities or who are disadvantaged. Bilingual preferred.
- Experience in job development for individuals with multiple barriers to employment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members.
- Proficient in standard computer operations systems and relevant software.
- Must have computer skills sufficient to perform the requirements of the position.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be familiar with the local community support and training skills.
- Must have effective vocational counseling skills.
- Must be able to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
- Must provide support services by working with disabled/disadvantaged persons and assisting in the rehabilitation process of Goodwill Industries of El Paso, Inc.
- Valid drivers license and auto insurance required.
