What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Flip the Script position at GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF GREATER DETROIT?

Position Duties:
1. Ensures the implementation and consistent delivery of the “Flip the Script” holistic program model, including educational training/GED preparation, job placement, career development, quality of life, skills development workshops, transitional work experience, and personal development guidance.
2. Assist in developing proposal requests and service inquiries received from potential and current funding sources.
3. Develop an annual operational budget, approve and control expenditures, and monitor budget to actual financial results. Institute corrective action as necessary.
4. Directs and administers leadership with service delivery strategy, coordination and administration of multiple grants/contracts agreements that include performance outcomes for men and women to achieve personal, training and employments goals/objectives.
5. Develop new and maintain existing program processes, procedures, policies, and logic models documenting the service delivery system.
6. Develop an organizational structure for the program and participate in the hiring of necessary staff.
7. Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified, and high performing staff and senior leaders. Ensure staff can provide efficient, effective delivery of direct services. Formulate and implement development plans and training objectives for employees and maintain work quality by regularly monitoring performance.
8. Manage and coordinate the activities of assigned personnel in establishing, implementing, and maintaining a professional, effective training environment for persons served.
9. Assist staff to empower participants to understand and overcome physical, economic, social, and emotional barriers to success.
10. Develop a continuous quality improvement system and utilize the information produced to evaluate service quality and adjust operations to achieve desired performance outcomes. Cultivate and maintain a work environment of continuous improvement, proactive thinking, and human service delivery innovations.
11. Monitor contract compliance and service delivery to ensure performance metrics and quality standards are achieved.
12. Prepare required reports to monitor service delivery quality and outcome attainment for funding sources, regulatory bodies, audits and accreditation agencies.
13. Create reports and dashboards within the agency’s customer relations management system to monitor, summarize and forecast outcome attainment. Identify data patterns that indicate best practices and influence program delivery for greater participant impact.
14. Ensure adherence to all appropriate safety standards and procedures for employees, trainees and facility occupants.
15. Manage building operations and maintenance services in coordination with Goodwill’s facilities department.
16. Perform all duties to the standards established by the organization, funding sources and regulatory bodies.
17. Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with community partners, elected officials, funders, and other stakeholders.
18. Maintain knowledge of current research, trends and professional development opportunities related to employment and credential obtainment for chronically unemployed residents with a focus on the justice impacted/involved population.
19. Adhere to highest standards of Goodwill of Greater Detroit’s core values, code of ethics, confidentiality and professionalism.
20. Perform other reasonable assignments as required.
