General Purpose :
As a Donation Attendant at Goodwill, you will play a vital role in our mission to create job opportunities and support communities. You'll be the face of our organization, serving as the first point of contact for donors and representing Goodwill's values of integrity, respect, and excellence. In this front-line position, you'll be responsible for providing an exceptional donor experience by accepting and processing donations with efficiency and professionalism. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting donors warmly, assessing and sorting donated items, and issuing accurate tax receipts when necessary. You'll ensure that the donation process is smooth, organized, and compliant with Goodwill's policies and procedures. Your positive attitude, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills will be instrumental in fostering long-lasting relationships with our donors and encouraging continued support for our cause.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide exceptional donor experience by accepting and processing donations efficiently and professionally
Greets the donor and carries the donation from donor’s vehicle to center. Gives the donors a receipt if requested.
Issue accurate tax receipts when necessary
Ensure smooth, organized, and compliant donation process following Goodwill's policies
Exercises sound judgment in determining which donations are acceptable and which are not. Uses good customer service practices when it is necessary to refuse a donation.
Thanks, the donor for the donation and is always courteous to all donors
Keeps donation area, both inside and outside of building, clean, neat, and free of debris at all times.
Sorts donations into appropriate categories, ready for pricing in the production department.
Learns and follows all policies and procedures related to donation operations. Is trained in gaylord and pallet use and assures that unsafe gaylords and pallets are removed from use.
Learns and practices safe methods for lifting and moving donations.
Assists in unloading and loading trucks and / or trailers.
Projects appropriate behavior and appearance as a representative of Goodwill Industries. Practices positive customer relations.
Maintains all required records and delivers to supervisor or driver as scheduled.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications / Basic Job Requirements : Describe the skills, knowledge and abilities required. Include minimum
educational and experience requirements and preferences.
High school diploma or GED preferred; or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
