SUMMARY
Manages and coordinates activities of the retail store personnel in the management of day to day operations. Responsible for driving and achieving sales quotas and goals by performing the following essential duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
• Responsible for scheduling the staff efficiently and ensuring payroll is on track and in line with sales. Assigns duties to workers and schedules breaks, work hours, and vacations to meet store needs. Ensures the sales floor is adequately covered.
• Trains, coaches and supervises workers in store policies, department procedures, and job duties. Issues progressive discipline as necessary. Objectively evaluates all store employee performance.
• Orders merchandise, supplies, and equipment. Communicates and coordinates with facility staff.
• Responsible for inventory control and loss prevention management.
• Records delivery of merchandise, compares record with merchandise ordered, and reports discrepancies to control costs and maintain correct inventory levels.
• Inspects merchandise to ensure the quality is line with the good / better / best pricing practice.
• Recommends additions to or deletions of merchandise to be sold in department.
• Prepares sales and inventory reports. Ensures sales and cash reporting accuracy and daily bank deposits.
• Consistently reviews and analyzes financial and statistical reports. Make adjustment to operations to ensure sales, payroll, production, expenses, and net sales goals are met.
• Displays and practices courteous, professional behavior towards customers at all times and leads by example. Professionally addresses customer complaints and resolves problems in a professional and efficient manner. Handles returned merchandise, and effectively resolves problems. Is able to restore and promote good public relations.
• Assists sales staff in addressing difficult situations. Must have a clear understanding of store policies and procedures (including cash handling, POS, store open/close, redemption process, donations process).
• Promotes and sells merchandise. Implements and executes promotional changes. Ensures staff is informed of changes and miscommunication to customers is minimized.
• Responsible for meeting retail quotas and goals through the management of day to day operations.
• Ensures that production goals are met through daily monitoring of production department. Make adjustments to production, sales and management to meet production goals.
• Ensures store is well organized, clean and fully stocked at all times. Plans department layout or merchandise or advertising display. Ensures the items are properly merchandised and make adjustments to sales floor as needed
• Provides guidance and direction to the supervisory team (Assistant store manager, sales leads, production lead). Communicates regularly with the team and keeps them informed of pertinent information. Ensures the Director of Retail and VP of Operations are kept abreast of appropriate matters.
• Ensures store security and reports any suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel on a timely basis. Able to prioritize urgency of matters.
• Attends and actively participates in sales management meetings and other organizational meetings as required. Holds regular, timely staff meetings to review sales management materials and discuss current store operations.
• Responsible for the safe and productive operations of the assigned store.
• Responsible for awareness of and adherence to all company, store and safety policies and procedures.
• Operational duties at other locations may be required as needs arises
• Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for Assistant Store Manager and Leads, Salesclerks, Sheltered Employees, Trainees, Volunteers, CSSP Workers, and Summer Youth Workers, as assigned. Responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Assistive responsibilities include interviewing, makes recommendations for hire, training employees, educating staff on sales goals, maintaining compliance with Goodwill policies and philosophy, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
CPR/First Aid Certification may be required based on assignment of location determined by Safety Department. Valid driver’s license, traffic abstract that meets company guidelines, and access to an insured vehicle with current registration and auto insurance are preferred but not required.
