What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Information Technology position at Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA?
The Director of Information Technology directly oversees the IT Operation with day-to-day project management and team leadership while ensuring the organization’s technological needs are met and align with the active strategic plan. It is required that the individual acts in a way that reflects a high standard of morals and integrity and can establish and maintain positive relationships with associates, vendors, and customers as a part of the successful implementation of the mission of Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, develop and implement strategies aligned with the active Strategic Plan while optimizing the use of resources with appropriate allocation to meet the needs of the organization.
- Consistently monitor, assess and improve the security measures to protect the IT systems and data of GIMG including performing risk assessments and implementing disaster recovery plans.
- Manage and oversee all facets of the information technology department for the organization.
- Complete oversight of the IT team including staffing and management.
- Daily supervision assigning tasks, setting priorities and overseeing daily operations.
- Ensuring team members have the tools and resources needed to perform their tasks effectively.
- Investing in the professional growth of their team members by identifying training opportunities and encouraging team members to stay up to date with industry trends.
- Collaboration with the VP of Administration to assess industry trends and how they can be used to benefit our organization.
- Provide daily computer support, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- To take the initiative on reporting and resolving network infrastructure problems and recommending upgrades and improvement to the network infrastructure.
- To manage all information technology equipment – i.e. computer inventory, software license, printers, A/V systems, WAP’s, network switches, etc.
- To select, maintain, deploy, manage, test, and support VOIP telephone systems, Firewalls, Point of Sale software, network infrastructure, A/V systems, etc.
- To manage the organization's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications, ensuring that they are implemented, configured, and integrated correctly.
- To develop and implement policies and procedures related to IT, ensuring that they are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- To maintain compliance with CARF, GLBA, CMMC, PCI and HIPAA, and all other legal guidelines.
- Oversee the planning and execution of IT projects, such as system upgrades, new implementations and migrations.
- Evaluate, select, and manage vendors of IT hardware, software, and other services.
- To maintain confidentiality of all records and files concerning the position.
- To perform all other duties as may be assigned.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
- WAN/LAN system requiring working knowledge of the entire system including software applications, Windows Server, Windows desktop operating systems, Azure, O365, Active Directory, SQL, managed switches, Point of Sale software, and project management experience.
- Strong organization, communication, problem solving and time management skills.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of motivating and managing teams, delegating tasks effectively, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Travel: Approximately 30% to provide support to our retail, donation centers, education, and hospitality locations.
- Working Conditions: Works in office environment, travels to sites, may work in confined spaces and will work with static sensitive equipment.
- Physical and Other Requirements: Requires good physical agility and strength. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work under stressful conditions. Must be able to climb ladders and be able to work in confined spaces.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and/or multiple professional certifications including - MCSE, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate., CGEIT, CISSP, etc.
- At least seven years in the information technology field with three years as a supervisor.
