Position Summary:
The E-Commerce Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the e-commerce department. Plans, monitors, and maximizes e-commerce budget and sales. Works closely with VP of Operations to coordinate and plan the best processes to achieve the best sales results and to gather the best sales team possible. Communicates regularly with Retail Store Managers to ensure they are aware of sales and e-commerce best practices. Serves as a positive role model by providing training and developing the skills of employees and clients. Addresses customer needs by immediately resolving conflict and inspiring long-term customer relationships.
Primary Duties:
- Responsible for attaining sales quota for e-commerce department by maximizing quality listings and sales from department operations.
- Supervises all e-commerce department activities in an orderly and professional manner as to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and to provide security and protection of donated merchandise.
- Develops staff to understand their job responsibilities and to promote the mission of Goodwill Industries of Mississippi, Inc. Uses progressive disciplinary action to counsel employees on needed improvements.
- Works and supervises production functions such as: verifying receipt of e-commerce merchandise from retail locations, assigns work responsibilities to staff, checks daily for number of listings, and provides feedback to push productivity and quality of work.
- Performs all necessary personnel functions as determined by company policies and procedures including record keeping, scheduling, payroll management, monthly budget, disciplinary functions, evaluations, and training.
- Responsible for performing and supervising housekeeping duties. These duties include but are not limited to cleaning and straightening of the sales floor and production areas by sweeping, mopping, washing and/or dusting as needed.
- Attends all loss prevention/safety meetings and promotes a safe environment for employees, clients, and customers. Responsible for learning the material, training subordinates, enforcing all policy, procedures, and audit requirements relative to the meetings.
- Enforces and effectively communicates company policies and procedures to all employees.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
- Remains knowledgeable of e-commerce best practices and pursues training on an ongoing basis.
- Utilizes provided jewelry equipment to provide customers with accurate, thorough information in all jewelry listings.
- Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
Requirement(s):
Associate's degree preferred or at least one year experience managing 15-20 employees in food services, manufacturing, production, or retail in lieu of education.
Certification(s):
- National Retail Federation (NRF) Certification within six months of job acceptance.
- Applied Jewelry Professional Certification from the Gemological Institute of America within one year of job acceptance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic judgment skills to determine merchandise/donation value.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Advanced math skills, including basic accounting and cash control procedures.
Additional Requirements:

- Ability to transfer to other working locations, as directed by management.
- Maintains a valid driver license.
- Working knowledge of computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to pass alcohol/drug screenings, criminal background check and any insurance driving record check.
Physical Requirements:
- Works in an environment with occasional high stress, with potentially short deadlines.
- Stands and walks for most of the workday occasionally sits.
- Routinely bends, stoops, pulls, pushes, reaches, kneels, twists, turns throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds in retail environment; 50 pounds in Donations/ADC/ Aftermarket environment, or the ability to do so safely.
Travel:
Minimal travel required. May travel to other locations to assist with management duties, collection of goods or to conduct training. Some travel for meetings, conferences and/or trainings may be required.
