Job Title: Training Support Specialist (Full-Time with Benefits)
Department: Workforce Development
Reports to: Program Manager
Classification: Non-Exempt
Supervises: N/A

Position Summary:
The Training Support Specialist’s primary purpose is to serve as the lead trainer for all individuals participating in Goodwill Industries of Mississippi, Inc’s training program. They are knowledgeable in all aspects of the retail positions offered by Goodwill and can train people with varying degrees of abilities to understand and execute in these positions. This employee works closely with retail management and coordinates their schedule to interact with the maximum number of trainees each week. Additionally, this person is the main conduit for relaying training progress to all applicable stakeholders.
Primary Duties:
- Completes bi-weekly progress reports for all trainees and submits to the applicable case manager on time.
- Participates in monthly staffing’s.
- Oversees the daily activities of each assigned trainee.
- Coordinates progression of activities for all assigned trainees, under the direction of the case manager.
- Monitors trainee’s time and attendance, and reports issues as needed.
- Participates in all applicable staff training events.
- Effectively works with retail store management to coordinate the training process.
- May perform remote work responsibilities with advance permission of manager.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirement(s):
High School Diploma or equivalency mandatory, bachelor’s degree preferred. Related experience in educational practice may be substituted in lieu of education.
Licenses & Certification(s):
Valid State Driver License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify strengths and weaknesses.
- Ability to learn, demonstrate, and train individuals with varying abilities on a wide range of topics.
- Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate with supervisor as needed.

- Ability to pass alcohol/drug screenings, criminal background check and any insurance driving record check.
Physical Requirements:
- Works in an environment with occasional high stress, with potentially short deadlines.
- Stands and walks for most of the workday, occasionally sits.
- Routinely bends, stoops, pulls, pushes, reaches, kneels, twists, turns throughout the day.
- Ability to lift to 25 pounds in retail environment; 50 pounds in Donations/ADC/ Aftermarket environment, or the ability to do so safely.
Travel:
Significant travel, including some overnight, may be required. May travel to other locations to assist with training activities. Some travel for meetings, conferences and/or training programs will be required.
