A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A TRUCK DRIVER
As a Truck Driver at Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana, Inc., you play a vital role in supporting our mission of providing services to the community. Frankly, nothing happens without our Operations Team of Drivers and Material Handlers organizing and transporting donated goods throughout Northeast Indiana!
As a Truck Driver, you will be given an assigned route for the day. A Material Handler will be partnered with you to help load and unload the truck.
At Goodwill, we all help out where needed in support of Goodwill's Mission! If for some reason you're not on the road, you might drive the forklift or help with the baler, or even sort donations. There is always something to do!
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for consideration, you must possess :
- A valid Chauffeur's license, "For Hire" endorsement or CDL (With Good driving record)
- Ability to pass a DOT Physical
- Have at least one (1) year of truck driving experience
- Be able to lift, push or pull heavy objects
- Be available to work weekends
WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time position generally works from 8 : 00 AM- 4 : 30 PM. Weekend availability is required, but we try to rotate so everyone can enjoy a weekend off now and then.

JOB PERFORMANCE
Reviewed upon initial hire at 30, 60 and 90 days, and annually thereafter, by the VP of Operations & E-Commerce.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for Material Handler while on truck - must report issues to supervisor.
EDUCATION
No specialized educational requirements; will train
EXPERIENCE
One year prior truck driving experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
Must have valid CDL license or driver's license with "for hire" endorsement.

Heavy work : Pushing and pulling up to 100 pounds occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
The ability to fully perform lifting and moving duties is mandatory.

The worker is subject to both outdoor and indoor environmental conditions.
