What are the responsibilities and job description for the E-Commerce Associate position at Goodwill Industries of Northeast PA?
Basic Function: This position will work in all areas of E-Commerce to identify and select donated items for sale online, thoroughly examining each item to determine the correct condition and other pertinent criteria, take detailed, clear and appropriate photos, write concise and accurate descriptions necessary to list items on the online platform available to maximize Goodwill of NEPA sales and profit margins. All policies/procedures should be followed according to the Shop Goodwill listing site and specific policies/procedures for Goodwill of NEPA. Expanded duties include purging of listed items, packing, shipping and all E-Book and Media listing procedures.
Specific duties and Responsibilities:
- List an average of at least 8 items per hour (minus lunch/breaks), using appropriate software platforms.
- List all items accurately, comprehensively, with no typos or spelling errors.
- Establish templates for common items to speed up the listing process.
- Identify rare, collectible and/or unique items.
- Research specialty items to ensure proper descriptions to maximize the exposure and value.
- Achieving an average selling percentage of 80%.
- Achieve the average sale goals established by the ShopGoodwill Coordinator.
- Perform proper testing for all jewelry identified with possible value, gems or precious metals.
- Follow all posting procedures to assign a listing # and proper storage placement to easily find for shipping.
- Follow all Shop Goodwill audit standards to ensure compliance.
- Proofread all item descriptions for clarity, spelling and grammar.
- Photograph each item with a camera having at least 6 pictures per item or necessary amount to depict the accuracy to on-line bidders.
- Properly pack and ship items to ensure safe arrival at destination.
- Implement Kaizen principles to ensure maximize use of space and efficiencies, including all station locations: Processing, Posting, Storage, Shipping.
- Communicate with customers via email and phone to address questions/concerns/issues about items he/she listed.
- Follow all policies/procedures within Goodwill Industries and specifically designated for E-Commerce.
- Adhere to all selection procedures and placement in proper location: processing, return to designated stores or salvage.
- Upload photos into computer.
- Post descriptions and photos onto shopgoodwill.com web site.
- Meet minimal posting goals.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Three years’ experience in a retail or e-commerce setting.
- Experience with E-bay or Amazon listing preferred.
- Commitment to service and building customer loyalty.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, type, reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Strong interpersonal skills, time management and communication skills.
- Must remain eligible after all criminal background checks have been completed.
Hours: Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (not to exceed 30 hours per week). No nights or weekends!
