Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Pricer to join our team. Under the direct supervision of the Store Manager or designee, the Pricer will be responsible for sorting and pricing donated merchandise, ensuring proper categorization, and maintaining an organized workspace. This role is essential in supporting Goodwill's mission by maximizing the value of donated items and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to donors and shoppers.
- Sort donations into salable, salvage, and trash categories, ensuring items are appropriately placed.
- Price merchandise based on Goodwill's baseline price guide and recognize items of exceptional value.
- Stay informed about industry trends, brand recognition, and competitive pricing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pricing area.
- Transport merchandise to appropriate areas including the sales floor, dock, or donor door.
- Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and apply markdowns as needed.
- Safely operate material handling equipment and dispose of trash appropriately.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Attend training sessions as required and participate in community-related activities when necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the store manager.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic math skills required.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Knowledge of antiques, collectibles, accessories, wares, shoes, furniture, electronics, or machinery is a plus.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Manual dexterity and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 40 pounds. Assistance is available for heavier items.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed.
- Visual acuity to assess merchandise quality and pricing.
Work Schedule:
- Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
