Purpose and Description
The Janitorial Supervisor position, as part of the Commercial Services Department, is responsible for the overall management, monitoring of the Janitorial Services Agreement at the US Federal Courthouse. As a working Janitorial Supervisor, coordinates with the Commercial Services VP and the Custodial Services Department Manager the procurement and scheduled use of resources, including labor, equipment and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of work as contracted within budget, safety guidelines and quality standards. Promotes the growth and development of custodial workers and assists them in carrying out their responsibilities as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintains and cleans rest rooms, offices, public traffic areas, lobbies, entrances, cafeterias, break rooms and lunchrooms. Responsible for floor care and carpet care, trash collection and removal and wall cleaning.
· Manages aspects of the job site, in accordance with company policies, the contract requirements by this customer, and federal laws.
· Responsible for generating weekly on-site inspections.
· Serves as liaison between the COR and Goodwill management.
· Responsible for safety issues at the job site, monitoring employees to ensure proper safety procedures are followed including reporting of accidents, injuries and all safety hazards to Management.
· Accounts for all employees in the event of an evacuation/emergency from the job site facility
· In the event of an absentee, have a replacement employee ready for the site
· Maintains positive working relationships with the COR at the job site.
· Keeps attendance of all crewmembers including reporting of absenteeism to Management
· Reports any employee illness on the job to Management.
· May be responsible for filling in for absent crewmembers.
· Completes supplies and equipment requisition forms.
· Secures supplies and equipment for the site.
· Delivers supplies, and trains employees on proper use of supplies.
· Schedules preventative maintenance on all equipment on a periodic basis if needed.
· Responsible for coordinating disciplinary actions, evaluations, and other personnel issues as needed with Manager.
· Responsible for any and all other duties as assigned by upper management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Background in janitorial industry and experience in using floor care equipment and chemicals.
2. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
3. Neat, clean personal appearance.
4. Ability to work solo and/or in combination with co-workers.
5. Must pass background and drug checks.
6. Must pass GSA’s determination Tier 1 government credentialing process
7. Must have valid driver’s license.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
