JOB TITLE: RETAIL DIVISION STORE MANAGER
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Hourly

JOB SUMMARY
The Store Manager is responsible for all store operations and ensures efficient and profitable execution of Goodwill Industries programs, policies and expectations through his/her store team. The Store Manager creates an environment that delivers an outstanding customer experience in a clean, friendly and safe manner. The Store Manager will attract clientele and move merchandise by ensuring that their store offers products and services that satisfy the needs and desires of their customers.
The Store Manager plays a key role in these primary business areas:
· Merchandising and promotion of sale items.
· Financial Analysis including controlling site cash and inventory, adhering to store budget and labor hour guidelines.
· Conducting Store Operations, which includes hiring, training and developing personnel.
· The Store Manager manages up to 30 hourly employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Direct the daily retail store operations. Supervise staff and provide workers with their daily list of assignments. Follow up with the employees to ensure work is getting done properly and in a timely manner. Monitor store budget.
· Direct merchandising, staffing and inventories.
· Insure that the policies and procedures of the retail operations are followed. Aid in producing and developing sales, production and staffing reports.
· Insure adequate inventories through communication of needs and rotation of merchandise.
· Supervise employees in proper sales techniques and procedures. Assist in selection, training and scheduling.
· Maintain good customer relations. Resolve customer complaints.
· Maintain good morale among staff.
· Responsible for the direction of the processing and preparation of donated goods.
· Responsible for developing and procuring goals to attain revenue and expense budgets.
· Report problems, maintenance requirements, unsafe conditions and general store operations to the proper department in a timely manner.
· Obey all OSHA regulations and safety requirements. Promote good safety work habits. Report any safety violations or safety related problems to the District Manager(s). Instruct all employees in proper lifting techniques and use of available equipment as well as other proper safety procedures. Also instruct staff how to properly read and use the MSDS book, as well as the first aid kit.
· Maintain work area by keeping it clean and free of debris at all times. Work areas must be maintained according to the posted schematics. “Stashes” of merchandise are expressly prohibited. Report any unauthorized shopping, purchasing or “stashing” of merchandise or requests of the aforementioned immediately to your supervisor. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.
OCCASSIONAL DUTIES OR SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS:
· Must work flexible hours and weekends. Travel for meetings and training as required
· Must have access to reliable transportation throughout a scheduled shift allowing for the successful completion of assignments such as making bank deposits or any other assigned tasks as required by the job.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Strong skills in communication, organization and follow-through.
- Ability to merchandise and manage store operations effectively.
- Must be able to motivate and direct store teams to achieve all operational/sales goals.
- Ability to adjust priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain records and documentation pertaining to work force.
- Ability to recruit, train and develop a successful team.
- Acts as a role model for the staff by providing the highest level of customer service at all times.
- Has a flexible schedule; nights and weekends are a must.
- Must have a least 3 years’ retail management experience.
- Must have a least 2 years’ experience in maintaining budgets, P&L statements and Operations.
- Position will include long periods of walking, standing, bending, stooping and/or twisting.
- May be required to travel to other locations on special assignments.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE SKILLS:
Basic computer skills, understanding of cloud based POS system, Microsoft Suites
OTHER:
Any combination of training, education and work experience that indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities required to adequately perform the job duties.
