RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Provide employment support to transition age youth and young adults with disabilities during a five-week temporary work experience program.
· Support individuals in small groups up to four, at a worksite including Goodwill facilities or with community employers, aiding consumers in job readiness activities.
· Work cooperatively with employers and professional staff toward meeting the needs of the individual(s) served.
· Learn the job tasks, train the individuals served, and assess performance.
· Observe the individual’s work behavior, interaction with associates, needs, limitations, strengths, and overall performance.
· Complete daily-required documentation and reports using the templates provided; reports must be completed within 48 hours of the last date of service.
· Perform task analysis to determine training sequence and performance benchmarks; facilitating accommodations as necessary.
· Promote consumer independence by providing the least invasive type of support possible; fading as appropriate.
· Treat the consumer with the highest level of professional and ethical behavior, maintaining confidentiality, healthy boundaries, and acting at all times as a good role model.
· Encourage a safe learning environment; allow for failures and successes to be opportunities for growth.
· Communicate openly and effectively with Goodwill staff, individuals, and their support team which may include family members/guardians, OOD Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Board of Developmental Disabilities staff, PCA’s, HPC Provider, and/or other service providers.
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

· Professional or personal experience with the disability community, an understanding of various types of disabilities, and an awareness of disability etiquette is required.
· Knowledge of various barriers to employment and their vocational implications.
· Must be able to work a varied and flexible schedule.
· Must have basic technology skills and ability to use/have access to a phone and computer.
· Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and provide own transportation.
· Must be well-organized, outgoing, independent, and a good multi-tasker.
· Associate degree and/or equivalent training and/or experience preferred.
· Minimum of three years' experience in a combination of job placement, education/teaching, personnel, or other applicable experience.
