POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager - Grants helps advance the Goodwill Mission to Help Change Lives through the Power of Work by helping the agency capitalize on external sources of funding to sustain and grow it’s programs. The Grants Manager oversees the entire grant process from grant research and writing to grant program design and implementation, to grant compliance and reporting. The Grant Manager works collaborative with the agency's Development Department, the program teams, accounting, compliance, marketing, and HR to select, win, and effectively administer grants that advance our organization’s goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Upholds and models Goodwill’s mission, core values, and servant leadership philosophy.
- Manage and abide by the grant requirements and goals set by the organization.
- Identify available grant opportunities and lead go/no go decision process collaboratively with the Development, Programs, and Support Teams.
- Be directly involved in grant writing including program design, budget development, performance metrics, contract review, forms, proposal strategy, package development and submission.
- Facilitate the process of grant contract review and signature by the appropriate parties within our agency and with the funder.
- Onboard new grants to include: define centralized storage of grant records; set-up grant reporting process; work with accounting to track and report expenditures/ establish invoicing process; ensure understanding and abidance to all other grant compliance items; adjust workforce allocation with HR as necessary, etc.; educate program teams on requirements and expectations.
- Administer grants through its lifecycle: manage timelines and deliverables, meet reporting requirements; monitor grant performance and work with Programs Teams to execute get well plans as necessary.
- Actively nurture relationships with funders to ensure compliance, satisfaction, and encourage continued funding.
- Prepare and monitor budgets; validate accuracy of invoices; submit budget revisions when necessary.
- Support grant audit processes. Utilize audit results to identify and correct problems related to program delivery, performance; or financial management.
- When appropriate, participate in the due diligence processes to select sub-grantees, lead contracting and award of sub-grantees, track performance and compliance of sub-grantees.
- Develop, update, and implement policies and procedures relating to grant administration and management.
- To accommodate business needs and objectives, other duties may be assigned by leadership.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, social impact design, development, marketing, social work, public policy or related field required.
- 5 years’ experience in grant writing, development and administration
- Understanding of grant compliance; financial management; performance reporting and management; and auditing processes
- Must be comfortable managing large amount of data (program performance and financials)
- Must be comfortable managing financial processes (budgeting, invoicing, monitoring spend rate, etc.)
- Proven experience managing projects/ working with diverse teams to meet timeline and deliverables.
- Grant writing experience
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail, oral & written communication skills, including intermediate skills in MS Office Word, PPT, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.
