JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Donated Goods Manager, the Semi-Tractor Driver is responsible for the safe operation of the semi-tractor, and trailer loading/unloading, relocation/repositioning, trash/roll off. This position also serves as a relief driver of other trucks as necessary, including bobtail box truck. The Semi-tractor driver will also be required to perform secondary duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Drive the roll-off truck to designated loading and unloading sites safely.
Drive the semi-tractor to designated loading and unloading sites safely.
Drive the semi-tractor to position/reposition trailers safely and orderly.
Perform pre-inspection checks before operating the vehicle. Notify the Lead Driver of any maintenance or repair issues.
Maintain daily E-Log, as mandated per O*NET regulations.
Display proper attitudes towards safety, ensuring that all operations are performed in accordance with Goodwills Safety Program.
Make daily trash runs.
Demonstrate superior customer service at all times.
Regular attendance is required to perform essential functions of the job.
SECONDARY DUTIES
As back-up to dock positions, may perform loading and unloading of trucks; also, may be assigned Material Handler I, II, & III duties
Assist in proper maintenance of the truck.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education Required: High school graduate or accredited equivalent. Class A license with doubles/airbrake endorsement.
Experience Required: Two years of semi-tractor driving, to include one year of heavy doubles, roll-off truck & forklift experience.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Knowledge Required: Knowledge of California State laws governing the operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of tractor and trailer(s) (to include maximum length when double trailers are involved, weight limitations, and special applications as necessary); semi-tractor driving skills, to include parking and backing ability.
Equipment Used: Semi-tractor, pallet jack, hand-held tablet, time recorder, hand truck, appliance truck, converter gear load lock, Roll-off truck, Bobtail truck.

Ability to operate vehicle in accordance with state, county, city laws, and Goodwill Industries policies, procedures, and regulations.

EMOTIONAL EFFORT
This position requires the ability to drive long distances for extended periods of time in all kinds of weather (inclement and pleasant). Moderate emotional effort involved in interactions with customers (external and internal).
LICENSES/INSURANCE/TRANSPORTATION
Must possess a valid California Class A Operators license with doubles/airbrake endorsement, current medical examiners certificate, and current Department of Motor Vehicles printout (maximum 3 points).
JOB SETTING
Semi-severe environmental conditions ranging from 25 to 115 degrees. Travel required. Occasional extra hours are required to meet all transportation needs. Weekends and holidays as scheduled.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to ambulate, reach, and lift up to 35 lbs., and have good hand/eye coordination. Good dexterity in upper extremities and upper torso.
