General Summary:
Assure compliance of company procedures; safeguard company assets, and advance company mission and objectives as directed by retail management. Protect the Donated Goods Retail assets in support of financial goals. Support loss prevention training initiatives to enhance employee and customer satisfaction and work towards creating a culture of safety and shrink reduction through established programs, policies and procedures.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Take an active role in identifying loss and take appropriate action to deter such loss.
- Serve as support to management in dealing with aggressive customers or any workplace violence issue.
- Conduct Safety inspections and communicate hazards to management.
- Able to maintain accurate information and efficient record keeping.
- Recover assets and make safe and consistent detentions in adherence with established detention policies and procedures.
- Assist in internal investigations at the direction of the Asset Protection Manager.
- Audit compliance to store LP Standards with alarm tests, employee Shop Policy enforcement, equipment, etc.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems on an external basis.
- Listen and communicate effectively to employees, shoppers, donors and visitors
- Responsible for heightening store Loss Prevention awareness.
- Able to speak and write effectively with various cultural backgrounds, levels of education and experience.
- Assure the highest levels of customer and donor service are maintained through implementation of Retail’s standards and Goodwill’s Values.
- Maintain confidentiality of Human Resource and other pertinent facility information.
- Ability to write detailed reports that meet the standards of the organization
- Ability to drive personal vehicle between stores on a variable and changing schedule

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 1-2 years retail loss prevention experience preferred but not required.
- Work varied schedule and flexible hours including night and weekend availability.
- Must be able to make good decisions in high-pressure situations with both safety and liability concerns being top of mind.
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle for transportation between stores, a valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.
- Computer skills preferred.
- Knowledge of video security systems and equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of burglar and fire alarm systems is a plus.
