General Summary: 

The Transitional Jobs Specialist will oversee the Goodwill Transitional Job Program. The emphasis of this role is to enroll program participants, provide coordination of on-the-job work experience, provide one-on-one and classroom work readiness skills, and help individuals to develop real-life work skills to assist with integration into an employment environment.?  


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assess, Recruit, and Screen applicants for Transitional Jobs Program enrollment. 
  • Complete comprehensive intake assessment and create service plan to determine job goals and training needs.
  • Develop work specific training plan to determine employment and training goals to achieve overall employment goal for participants.
  • Responsible for partnership with worksite supervisor to ensure participant receives on-the-job training that focuses on soft skills and employment readiness.
  • Provide work and life skills training one-on-one and via cohort training model utilizing GII Goodwill Works curriculum. 
  • Provide job preparation and pre-employment support to participants.
  • Monitor individual performance with routine follow-up and support of participants in program.
  • Partner with a variety of Goodwill department leaders to coordinate transitional placement and on-going training.
  • Orientate site managers who will host a transitional jobs program participant to the elements of the program, the resources available and their responsibilities.
  • Track monthly outcomes to determine program and individual progress.
  • Complete participant documentation accurately and timely. Recording and tracking program data.
  • Effectively analyze key performance indicators and update processes to improve program outcomes.
  • Provide resources and referrals to skills training programs. 
  • Provide job leads and referrals for placement into permanent employment.
  • Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values.

Requirements

Required education and/or work experience:

  • Associates degree in related field such as human services or social work. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience.

  • Valid Driver’s License, good driving record, and proof of auto insurance.

Travel Required: Frequent travel to Goodwill locations where individuals are placed.
