What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Manager position at GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF SOUTH TEXAS INC?
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the organization’s compliance with internal Standard Operating Procedures and external contracts, local, State and Federal guidelines. The Compliance Manager will conduct internal audits to identify potential weaknesses and non-compliant situations and develop a strategic plan to eliminate the risk of non-compliance.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Develop and implement a metric system(s) to monitor organization compliance
- Train employees on how to use metric system to self-monitor
- Conduct internal audits utilizing metric systems to ensure organization compliance regarding internal and external regulations.
- Coordinate, develop, review, and implement policies and procedures resulting from new laws and regulations
- Serve as the primary contact for external organization audits
- Communicate audit results through regular written reports to supervisor and department head of the department audited
- Prepare and file regulatory reports and other documentation
- Embrace the core values of the agency in the spirit in which the agency operates at work and in the community.
- Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals.
- Comply with all department and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Either may be used to qualify:
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
- Associates Degree in a Business related field and two (2) year's of related experience

- Ability to interpret and translate laws and regulations; strong analytical skills; detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet targets and deadlines; self-motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to learn independently
- Ability to work well with others in a respectful and collaborative work environment
- Demonstrate professional mannerism with a high degree of customer service skills
- Ability to effectively read, write and communicate
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Possess an excellent work ethic
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Bilingual preferred
PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, stoop, bend, and crouch for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift more than 25 pounds
