Store Manager
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Lead and coordinate activities of the retail store personnel in the management of day-to-day operations. Responsible for achieving production and sales goals, adhering to HR, loss prevention, and safety procedures, as well as assisting in other business functions. The Store Manager is expected to be professional while upholding the values of-Empowerment, Public Trust, Respect, Innovation, Quality, and Safety.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
MANAGEMENT
- Display and practice courteous, professional behavior towards customers and lead by example
- Professionally address customer complaints and effectively resolve problems
- Assign duties to employees and schedule breaks, work hours, and vacations to meet store needs Schedule employees efficiently and ensure payroll is on track and in line with sales
- Take active steps to set goals for employees to produce and achieve high-performance standards that align with production targets. Ensure agency changes are promptly communicated
- Conduct interviews regularly to maintain staffing patterns to guarantee store success
- Train, coach, and supervise employees in store policies, department procedures, and job duties. Issue progressive discipline, as necessary
- Embrace the core values of the agency in the spirit in which the agency operates at work and in the community while complying with all department and agency policies, procedures, and regulations Actively promote diversity and inclusion and ensure a supportive, welcoming work environment for everyone
OPERATIONS
- Promote and sell merchandise while actively observing changes and minimizing miscommunication with customers
- Adjust operations to ensure sales, payroll, production, expenses, and net sales goals are being met Ensure that production goals are met through daily monitoring of the production department
- Utilize data collected from the solutions system to keep production and sales staff informed of performance and production goals. Actively monitoring the production department and adjusting as required to meet production goals Partner with the Human Resource Department to ensure compliance with agency policies is being upheld and maintained. Adhere to and enforce safety and loss prevention procedures to prevent injury to personnel and damage to property, equipment, and inventory
FINANCIAL
- Review and analyze financial and statistical reports
- Objectively evaluate all store employee performance and conduct evaluations as required, while discussing positive achievements and areas of improvement with employees regularly Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree and four (4) years of retail experience or any combination of experience or education may be used
- Valid Driver License, clean driving record, and carry minimum liability coverage as required by the State of Texas. Reliable transportation
- Ability to work with limited supervision, and to make effective decisions by exercising discretion, independent judgment, critical thinking skills, and creativity
- Ability to manage and motivate the employees to ensure daily tasks are completed
- Ability to perform intermediate math, as well as read, write, and listen proficiently to communicate with supervisors, employees, and customers Ability to work flexible hours
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual
- Experience working with diverse workgroups and people with disabilities
- Experience with an HR system such as UKG Working knowledge of solutions system POS
PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to work in hot/cold, humid, and/or dusty environments
- Ability to bend, push and stand for extended periods Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds or more with two-person assistance
