Description of Responsibilities: Under direct supervision of Director of Warehousing & Safety, assists in managing transportation and warehouse activities and assists with scheduling of staff and directing of the warehouse and transportation on a day-to-day work plan.
Essential Functions: Complies with all agency policies, procedures and safety standards and ensures all applicable training is completed throughout areas supervised to meet CARF, Department of Labor, DOT and other regulatory standards. Regular, timely attendance is required. Responsible for maintaining the authorized plant layout and efficient work flow to maximize productivity and labor using charts, records and reports; sets employee, fleet and dock schedules to ensure the smooth delivery and loading of our fleet, vendors, salvage buyers, and all other common carriers; operates and sets standard operating procedures for our Home Pickup program; maintains maintenance records for the fleet including forklifts and all warehouse machines. Establish budgets; Requisition, inventory and manage materials, supplies, equipment parts, and repair and vendor services; Works in conjunction with Salvage Supervisor to cover departments as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Ability, Skills & Knowledge Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to coach/train staff through regular meetings, one-on-ones, and performance evaluations; communicate with internal and external coworkers/customers of all levels using good oral and written skills; gather and analyze data and draw insight from detailed level analysis; create standard tracking/management reports; operate a fork-lift; perform physical labor and to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must have a working knowledge of loading/unloading trucks and be able to work a flexible schedule.
Required Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, or year for year experience substitution. Three years of experience, including one year performing in a supervisory capacity.
