JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Team Lead is responsible for supervising employees and overseeing all store operations and donor activity in the absence of the Team Lead. They and the Team Lead will be the driving force in meeting established revenue goals and budgeted expenses. The Assistant Team Lead will maintain and teach all guidelines and procedures of the POS system and the Push System.
He or she will be responsible for the opening and closing of the retail store in the absence of the Team Lead. The Assistant Team Lead is responsible for fulfilling and maintaining all phases of the PUSH
SYSTEM daily. Train and provide guidance, daily, to all employees at their retail site; Provide the highest level of professional customer service to customers and donors at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Will be responsible for the completion of accurate sales reports, accurate bank deposits, credit card settlement reports, inventory/return reports, and donor records. All daily, weekly, and monthly reports are to be completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain proper cash controls per company-set policies and procedures.
- Must keep up to date on all significant changes or problem areas and see they are corrected and addressed.
- Help provide leadership, coaching, and supervision to all store personnel, and community service workers.
- Along with the Team Lead, meet and/or exceed set revenue goals.
- Maintain confidentiality of Human Resources and other pertinent facility information.
- Ability to communicate the Goodwill Mission to customers, donors, and staff. Must be able to explain how the Goodwill Store, Transportation Department, and Donation Center support the mission.
- Must assure the compliance of company policies and procedures by all retail store personnel at all times.
- Ensure the highest level of customer/donor Customer Service standards are met at all times.
- Assistant the Team Lead in maintaining proper inventory volume and quality on the store sales floor at all times.
- Assists the Team Lead with maintaining quality control standards, addressing and resolving problems, and ensuring ongoing improvements of the Push System process, company procedures, and work schedules.
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment at all times.
- Must have a reliable vehicle to transport deposits to the bank.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to operate POS system and credit card terminal; take money as well as credit cards.
- Must maintain accurate cash and balance with cashier settlement report.
- Ability and knowledge to prepare bank deposits, and deposit slips and make deposits at the end of the business day.
- Ability to work a varied schedule and flexible hours Sunday through Saturday of each week.
- Ability to help plan and organize employees' work schedules to meet the demands and specifications of retail POS system, Push System, store sales, and donation center needs.
- Ability to aid in screening, interviewing, hiring, and providing direct training of staff.
- Ability to lead and motivate store staff to build a strong sales team.
- Ability to gather, examine, record, and relate personnel productivity on a verbal, written, and
automated basis. - Ability to arrange multiple work assignments and conflicting schedules.
- Ability to cope with conflicting points of view and be able to effectively handle the expected and the unusual.
- Ability to communicate effectively with store personnel, customers, donors, visitors, and staff.
2. Training and Experience
- Computer skills
- Able to count and do math.
- Able to read, write, and complete paperwork.
- Prior cash register and checkout experience.
- Ability to operate POS system, fax machine, and credit card terminal.
- Ability to calculate figures.
- Must be able to perform as a team player with Team Lead and co-workers.
- Retail/inventory experience. Preferably supervisor status.
3. License or Certificate
- A valid driver’s license is required.
4. Physical/Sensory Demands
- Full range of motion, with the ability to move throughout the store, shipment/return area and
donation center site. - Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and reach for eight (8) hours or more.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 35 pounds as required.
- Satisfactory eyesight: Visually distinguish methods of payment, follow appropriate procedures, and ensure that product quality and safety guidelines are being met.
- Ability to understand merchandise for packaging, organization, and display.
