Position Overview
The Part-Time Marketing & Event Planning Assistant will assist the marketing team in developing and implementing marketing strategies while supporting the planning, promotion, and execution of events under the direction of the Director of Communications. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Marketing Support:
- Assist in creating and managing content for digital marketing platforms, including social media, email campaigns, and website updates.
- Help monitor and analyze marketing campaign performance.
- Aid in the development of marketing materials (e.g., brochures, newsletters, digital ads).
- Assist with brand awareness and promotional activities.
- Event Planning & Coordination:
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of company events, both virtual and in-person, including conferences, workshops, and networking events.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to organize event logistics.
- Assist in managing event budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective execution.
- Help with event promotion, including social media posts, email campaigns, and event listings.
- Coordinate event registrations, invitations, and communication with participants.
- Administrative Support:
- Help maintain schedules, meeting agendas, and timelines for marketing and event-related projects.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide general administrative support as needed for the marketing department.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in marketing, event planning, or a related field (experience may include internships or part-time roles).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with marketing software/tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Mailchimp, Canva).
- Creative thinking with attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with social media management and analytics.
- Previous event planning experience.
- Knowledge of basic design principles for marketing materials.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position, approximately 25 hours per week. Flexible hours with the possibility of occasional evenings or weekends for events.
