- Establish and nurture Employer Advisor relationships with local employers, industries, and workforce development agencies to create training and job placement opportunities.
- Collaborate with partners to understand the specific skill requirements and job opportunities within the community to assist students entering the workforce.
- Provide job readiness training and support for students, including resume building, interview preparation, and job search guidance.
- Ensure training and classroom management are consistent with the policies and procedures of the Vocational School.
- Collaborate with trainers and instructors to maintain an effective curriculum that aligns with industry standards and market demands.
- Monitor student progress, attendance, and performance, and implement interventions as necessary to ensure successful program completion.
- Conduct outreach efforts to identify and recruit potential students with a priority for low-income communities of color.
- Assist students in the enrollment process, providing guidance and support to ensure a smooth transition into training programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with students to provide support and navigation to coaching and support services.
- Identify and address barriers that may hinder student success, offering solutions and resources to overcome obstacles.
- Match graduates with appropriate job opportunities to ensure successful job placements.
- Track student progress and enter data into program specific database to monitor progress and success of students and program.
- Oversee the opportunity to provide internships, job shadows and volunteer engagement.
- Contribute to the organization's strategic mission and goals.
- Evaluate and ensure continued improvement toward mission/program success.
- Associates Degree or 2 – 4 years' equivalent experience required.
- Experience working with low-income communities and communities of color.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understanding of vocational training programs and education systems.
- Ability to identify and address barriers to education and employment.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in partnership development and networking.
- Knowledge of local labor market trends and employment opportunities.
- Familiarity with educational support services and resources.
- Demonstrate cultural competence; specifically, awareness, attitude, knowledge, willingness and skills to work effectively with a culturally and demographically diverse population
- Exceptional analytical, judgment, decision-making and communications skills
- Superior coaching, leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build understanding and consensus
