What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Specialist position at GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF TULSA, INC?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Marketing Specialist supports internal and external marketing/communications strategies, with emphasis on three areas: graphic design, social media, and internal messaging.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Design and create media content, collateral, and graphics that support the internal and external communication needs of Goodwill Industries of Tulsa (GWIT). Formats may include (but are not limited to) social media, digital, web, and print.
- Manage GWIT’s organic social media presence. Using the department’s content calendar as a guide, create and post content. Respond to inquiries/comments.
- In coordination with GWIT’s strategic plan and internal communications/engagement strategies, create content and manage internal communication tactics, including digital/video.
- Use a variety of tools and techniques to achieve communication and messaging goals.
- Ensure that content is aligned with Goodwill’s values, mission, vision, and strategy. Ensure stewardship of the Goodwill brand, in keeping with brand guidelines/requirements established by GWIT, Goodwill Industries International, and relevant partners.
- Review and be familiar with GWIT’s safety policies, programs, and procedures. Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and safety codes; attend safety training sessions and safety meetings.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Familiarity with marketing/messaging tools and techniques, including graphic design (Adobe suite and Canva) and reporting/analytics.
- Strong computer and A/V skills and creative approaches to the uses of technology.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Flexible team player, effectively interfacing with all levels of the organization and across functions.
- Commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups and serve as a unifying force while leading messaging discussions at both strategic and tactical levels.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must be eligible for a positive outcome on the required State of Oklahoma criminal conviction background check.
- Must pass a drug test and comply with Goodwill’s Drug-Free Workplace policy throughout employment.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's or bachelor’s degree. Two years/equivalent relevant work experience, which could include advertising/promotion, marketing/communications, public relations, graphic design, and social media
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Talking, hearing, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling, seeing, and accommodation.
Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling: Light Work - Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job is included in this category when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree, or when it involves sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling or arm and/or leg controls.
