Position Overview:

Goodwill Industries of Tulsa, Inc. is seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Director with a strong background in construction to oversee and optimize the daily operations across multiple functions, including Loss Prevention, Maintenance, and Janitorial Services. This leadership position is responsible for ensuring the smooth, cost-effective, and compliant operation of facilities and infrastructure, with a specific focus on maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and quality.

The ideal candidate will possess both strategic and hands-on expertise, combining a comprehensive understanding of operational oversight with a construction background to ensure the ongoing integrity and improvement of Goodwill's physical assets. A key aspect of the role is to foster a collaborative environment that balances operational efficiency, employee well-being, and cost-effective solutions to ensure the organization's long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Operations:
    • Lead and manage maintenance teams to ensure timely and effective repair, upkeep, and improvement of all facilities.
    • Develop and execute a preventative maintenance program to extend the lifespan of equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.
    • Oversee construction and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project timelines.
    • Work with the Maintenance Coordinator to monitor maintenance budgets, ensuring cost control while maintaining operational effectiveness.
  • Janitorial Services:
    • Oversee the cleanliness and sanitation of all Goodwill facilities.
    • Develop cleaning schedules, ensuring that all facilities follow health and safety standards.
    • Coordinate with janitorial staff and vendors for timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Construction Oversight:
    • Utilize construction expertise to manage facility improvement projects, including renovation, repairs, and new construction as needed.
    • Ensure that all construction projects are executed on time, within budget, and meet safety and quality standards.
    • Collaborate with external contractors and internal teams to ensure efficient project planning, execution, and completion.
  • Oversee Loss Prevention Operations:
    • Develop and implement effective loss prevention strategies to reduce theft and operational inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with loss prevention team to maintain a safe and secure environment across all locations.
  • Analyze incident reports and take corrective action to mitigate future risks.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control:
    • Develop and manage the annual operating budget for maintenance, loss prevention, and janitorial functions.
    • Analyze financial reports and operational metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
    • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • High School Diploma required
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in operations management, with a strong emphasis on construction.
    • Extensive knowledge of construction practices, project management, and safety regulations.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
    • Excellent project management abilities, with experience overseeing large-scale construction or renovation projects.
    • Financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets, negotiate contracts, and control costs.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Climbing, balancing, talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, seeing and depth perception. Lifting/Carrying: Heavy Work: Lifting 50 lbs. maximum, one-man lift, and 100 lbs. maximum, two-man lift, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Pushing/Pulling: Moving up to 100lb or more with frequency.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a fast-paced, hands-on operational environment, requiring the Operations Director to spend time both in the office and across various locations. The role may involve occasional travel between facilities, and physical demands may include inspecting construction sites, lifting equipment, and overseeing maintenance activities. This is considered a Safety Sensitive role.
