Job Identification:

Wage: $22.00 per hour

Maximum Range is provided as an example of the Wage/salary range for each position and its earning capacity given factors such as time in position, longevity with the company, education level, and performance experience. Newly entering employees should expect to enter at the minimum level.

Job Summary:
The Assistant Training Store Manager will assist the Training Store Manager in the effective operation of a Goodwill Store, oversee related functions and activities, and administer company policies and procedures. They will prepare related reports, reconcile daily receipts, make bank deposits and maintain store security. The Training Assistant Store Manager will ensure all persons reporting to the store in any capacity for training are trained and developed to perform their job functions in accordance with Goodwill’s best practices and in line with all policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Manages the store in the absence of the Training Store Manager.
• Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day workflow of employees.
• As requested by the Training Store Manager, conducts or assists with performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• In connection with the Training Store Manager, assigns daily training activities for all new employees for all locations.
• Assists the Training Store Manager with employment actions, including discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Assists the Training Store Manager in monitoring employee performance, identifying and facilitating opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency.
• Manages daily aspects of the store and its staff to ensure projects are completed and goals and customer needs are met.
• Ability to provide and demonstrate positive customer service and to de-escalate customer service issues
• Trains all persons scheduled or assigned at the Rose store for all retail locations in their respective roles.
• Able to partner trainees with associates in the training location for best possible training experience.
• Helps to implement and maintain the retail training curriculum and guides others to achieve the desired outcomes of that curriculum.
• Ensures all policies and procedures are taught in like with Goodwill’s best practices.
• Offers reporting or feedback to perspective store on areas of mastery or opportunities to focus on.
• Hires, trains, develops, supervises and evaluates associates within the framework of Goodwill’s policies, procedures and job descriptions.
• Forecast sales and order merchandise.
• Drafts, submits, and presents various performance and management reports.
• Manages inventory of store merchandise.
• Price and markdown merchandise properly; return unsold merchandise.
• Handles funds properly as required for store operations.
• Addresses customer needs and resolves issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships.
• Maintains store security measures and takes appropriate actions on known and suspected theft.
• Enforces safety practices and procedures and prepares related reports.
• Accepts permanent / temporary assignments in other locations at discretion of District Manager.
• Manages conflicts and resolves complaints about or within the store.
• Responsible for a neat, clean and organized store.
• Follows and trains all employees in all safety policies and procedures and ensures safe working conditions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned that would lead to successful operation of department, team, and/or mission.


Required Skills/Abilities:
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Superior ability to train all retail jobs to new or existing employees.
• Well versed in all procedures including but not limited to Kaizen, POS and leadership directives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to speak/read/write proficient English.
• Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
• Excellent customer service, sales, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to create and present ideas, reports, and budgets in various formats.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to assign and delegate tasks.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Honesty, integrity, reliability, punctuality.
• Must be able to work any store hours (Saturday through Friday: 7:00am – 8:30pm.)
• Appropriate dress attire.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Required Experience:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and or abilities required for the position. Individuals must be able to pass a criminal background. Individuals must have a valid driver’s license, liability insurance, insurability under the agency insurance carrier, dependable vehicle and a clean driving record.
• Valid driver license and insured/reliable vehicle.
• Background check.

Physical Requirements:
• Must work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to traverse warehouse to observe physical inventory.
• Prolonged periods standing (up to 8 hours.)
• Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 50 pounds at times.
• Ability to bend/squat/stoop.
• Good vision.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
• Free from drug and alcohol abuse.

• Electronic cash register/POS system.
• ROBarT System
• Smart Safe.
• Computer and telephone.
• Charge Card terminal.
• Hand truck.
• Broom, dust mop, wet mop, water bucket.

Personal Protective Equipment Used – Assigned at orientation/as needed:
• Safety belt
• Face Mask
• Hand sanitizer (available at worksite)
• Disinfectant wipes (available at worksite)
• Gloves
• Goggles
