Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented Retail Operations Director to join our team! The Retail Operations Director will be responsible for the development and management of all aspects of the retail organization to meet performance goals. The Retail Operations Director will provides strong, results-oriented retail teams through leadership, direction and supervision of the retail, aftermarket, and outlet sales and store operations. The responsibilities will be accomplished and supported with careful adherence to policies and procedures in support of Goodwill Industries of Kentucky and its mission. This position is responsible for ensuring that Goodwill’s retail programs take an active part in accomplishing the mission. Essential Duties and Tasks:
- Provides oversight on regional retail operations with a focus on managing all Regional Retail Managers. Ensures that retail leadership effectively interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance, rewards, and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Analyzes financial information to identify trends and opportunities or issues to meet goal objectives.
- Prepares an annual plan and budget and is accountable for achieving goals and operating within budgets related to retail.
- Manages statewide revenues and expenses for providing increase net income to the organization each year.
- Displays goal-minded leadership skills by reaching goals based on review of sales and processing numbers. Ensuring expenses are maintained within budget guidelines.
- Aggressively grows sales and maximizes profitability of the retail programs, to further the mission of Goodwill.
- Ensures a workplace free of discrimination or harassment throughout the state. Takes prompt action, within agency policy, to address any such allegations or incidents.
- Establishes and implements operational policies, procedures, and quality standards for all aspects of the retail program. Works in collaboratively with other retail leaders to ensure consistent compliance to Goodwill policies and application of employee relations practices across the state of Kentucky, when applicable.
- Works cooperatively with other agency staff to accomplish the mission, including offering training and employment opportunities for program participants and selected populations.
- Promotes Goodwill in the community by developing and maintaining customer relationships. Builds community relations with ongoing contacts in the business and professional community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required or commensurate work experience is required.
- Five (5) years or more supervisory or managerial experience with retail management experience in a multi-store retail operation with annual revenues exceeding $15 million.
- Must have good mathematical skills; ability to manage budgets and analyze other relevant financial metrics required.
- Must have the ability to express self effectively, both orally and in written form.
- Must have valid driver’s license and insurance.
Physical Requirements:
- This job may have physical requirements that is considered medium work. Medium work involves sitting for short periods of time; constant bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Travel to other locations across the state beyond the assigned work location is frequently required.
