Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois is seeking a part-time Job Coach for it Supported Employment Program at the Freeport Goodwill Retail Store location. The candidate is responsible for assisting participants with disabilities with training and support while performing work at the Goodwill store in Freeport. Cultivates partnerships and relationships with employers and service agencies in the local communities serviced by Goodwill to best serve participants. Assists with meeting program goals and outcomes, while also ensuring personal growth for program participants within the work environment. Works closely with the District Lead to accomplish program goals.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Work with individuals with disabilities to coach, model and motivate to perform work successfully.
- Prepare workstations for daily work activities.
- Create effective solutions and accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
- Work proactively with retail store staff and ensure outcomes match with retail goals.
- Manage work assigned to participants and assist if needed.
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships and relationships with local employers.
- Attend interviews with participants in the community.
- Effectively train and transition participants to community employment.
- Provide Job Coaching at our participant’s place of employment in the community.
- Provide customized instruction and training to the participant per the employer.
- Communicate with employer to monitor participant’s progress and address any concerns.
- Instruct participants in job retention skills.
- Create and manage detailed case notes in the ETO database, ensuring all data is maintained in a timely manner.
- Responsible for enforcing program guidelines and following policies.
- Attend various community events to promote the Supported Employment Program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required, higher education preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities, understand and communicate with diverse groups.
- Three to five years’ experience working in human service industry preferred.
- Ability to understand and communicate with diverse groups.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to motivate and assist individuals in performing work.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to motivate and assist individuals in performing work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with basic computer navigation and word processing skills are essential.
Certificates/Licensing:
- Must have a current driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance coverage.
- Ability to maintain First Aid and CPR certification
- Ability to maintain Office of Inspector General and Rule 50 training.
Compensation: $17.50 - $21.50/hour
