While receiving leadership support from the Leadership team, the Forklift Operator advances our mission by being responsible for operating a forklift in a safe manner by loading and unloading materials or transferring materials from one location to another to ensure accuracy of warehouse inventory. The Forklift Operator will align service delivery in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, values and brand of Goodwill NCW.
Key Responsibilities
- Operates forklift safely while meeting OSHA and agency standards.
- Stages product safely in designated areas, by commodity, to ensure future accessibility.
- Keeps work area and walkways/aisles organized and clean while meeting warehouse standards.
- Loads and unloads trailers/trucks while ensuring accuracy of paperwork.
- Supports warehouse reports and coordinates trailer needs with
warehouseoperations team by giving clear direction for smooth switching of trailers to meet daily logistics supports. - Communicates trailer information with drivers that reflects the current status and location of trailers.
- Ensures the highest level of customer service standards when interacting with internal and external customers.
- Reports any damage immediately and completes required paperwork.
Qualifications
Education, Skills & Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Current forklift certification is preferred.
- Ability to operate machinery such as forklift and clamp truck.
- At least one year of warehouse operation experience is preferred.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations is preferred.
- At least a basic level of competency with computers to complete online training and utilize the organizations intranet and timekeeping software.

- Work is performed primarily in a standard warehouse environment with frequent interruptions.
- Primary function requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office, retail, or warehouse setting; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, lift, carry, push and/or pull light (10 pounds) to moderate (50 pounds) of weight.
- Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, including use of a computer keyboard.
- Able to safely and proficiently operate a forklift and other common warehouse equipment.
- Travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation.
- Verbally communicate to exchange information.
