What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor/Student Support Specialist position at Goodwill Northern New England?
Job Purpose: To support adults in the community, we aim to provide them with the literacy and skills necessary for employment and economic self-sufficiency. Our goal is to offer high-quality instruction in reading, writing, and mathematical skills to help individuals raise their educational functional levels and obtain their high school equivalency. Additionally, we strive to assist staff in recruitment, goal setting, and providing work readiness activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in program improvement efforts.
- Conduct intake, data collection, and input for outcome tracking.
- Perform initial and on-going assessments of students' abilities and skills.
- Support student success in career pathways, helping students acquire knowledge and basic skills necessary to earn a secondary school credential and transition to and succeed in employment and/or postsecondary education or training.
- Provide education and instruction using various methods to appeal to different learning styles and abilities.
- Incorporate the College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) into curricula and create lesson plans aligned with these standards.
- Deliver instruction to classes, including large-group, small-group, and one-on-one instruction.
