Position Title: Custodial Laborer
Location: Delaware State University
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with a 1-hour lunch
This position is responsible for all work associated with cleaning and maintaining assigned physical facilities of the campus community.
The following are the essential functions to performing this job.
1. Provide cleaning services for campus facilities.
2. Provide support to the Custodial Mission and Vision through the effective and efficient maintenance of the University physical properties an aesthetically pleasing manner
Individuals in this job may be assigned one or more of the following tasks on a rotating or as-needed basis.
1. Provide support to Grounds and Maintenance during inclement weather.
2. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The individual in this job must possess these skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
1. Demonstrated ability to perform physical tasks of lifting, bending, reaching and climbing.
2. Demonstrated competency in written and oral communications.
3. Demonstrated knowledge in and ability to perform custodial services in a business and residential setting.
4. Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently operate equipment tools commonly used in custodial services.
Qualification Standards
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience in custodial related services in a business or residential setting. Valid Drivers License and ability to work in a high paced environment with minimum supervision.
Performance Standards
The criteria for evaluation in this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Demonstrated knowledge and effective performance of duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Custodial Services.
2. Delivery of prompt and courteous customer service.
3. Completion and quality of work according to established guidelines and timelines.
4. Reliable attendance and work results
5. Interaction and working relationships with co-workers and customers.
