What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Facilities Projects position at Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago?
Manager Facility Projects is responsible for implementing strategy for all facility and equipment projects: renovations, new construction, equipment overhauls, upgrades, phase replacements and installs on all Food Service and Logistic contracted facilities including Goodwill Great Lakes owned property at Naval Station Great Lakes. Oversees daily operations, direct staff and ensures implementation of departmental policies, procedures and programs.
RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Implements strategy for all facility and equipment projects: renovations, new construction, equipment overhauls, upgrades, phase replacements and installs on all Food Service and Logistic contracted facilities including Goodwill Great Lakes. Oversees daily operations, direct staff and ensures implementation of departmental policies, procedures and programs. Maintains operating budget and manages expenses. Communicates budgetary performance. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 1-2 years and focuses on the creation of systems, processes and programs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Leading and Developing Talent: Manages departmental structure, development and training of staff. Actively networks and sources for positions within the team.
2. Project and Change Management: Plans and manages projects of low to moderate complexity related to departmental function. Manages change with direct reports and participates in the leadership coalition that supports the change.
3. Community Engagement: Understands social trends driving Goodwill's community engagement initiatives, and champions initiatives.
4. Manage construction of facilities, new construction and build-outs, interacting with architects, engineers, contractors and consultants. Manage project work flow and schedules to meet current and future organizational needs. Consult regularly with management.
5. Manage, direct and supervise appliance mechanics on assigned facility-related projects within established fiscal and quality standards.
6. Develop and sustain positive relationships with the Navy customer and related departments to facilitate communication and ensure cooperation and timely assistance for Goodwill related project requirements.
7. Manage maintenance and repair activities of contractors, and ensure that contractor s time is accurate and work performed meets required specifications.
8. Proactively anticipate issues and continuously improve operational performance. Develop and implement procedures to attain maximum productivity, safety and quality.
9. Maintains and ensures a safe and orderly work environment.
10. Submit weekly status reports to Assistant Director, Facilities Support Services Other duties as assigned. Responsible for sourcing of equipment, parts and services related to facilities maintenance.
11. Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
12. Must be a US Citizen, as defined by US Navy security guidelines
13. Required to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) within 90 days of date of hire, pursuant to US Navy security guidelines. Inability to obtain CAC card may result in removal and/or termination from position.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Associate's degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years' experience.
2. Valid driver's license, forklift license and scissor lift license required. Must hold Trustworthiness Determination Clearance.
3. Strong understanding of building facility systems and infrastructure, water system, electrical systems, HVAC systems and Fire suppression systems. Knowledge of all building and environmental codes.
4. Ability to read blueprints and interpret contracts, schematics and equipment specifications. Functional knowledge of AutoCAD and CMMS (Maximo & Facility works) programs. Knowledge of military facility construction standards.
5. Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project and Visio).
6. Ability to travel to various facilities, vendor offices and other locations to coordinate and facilitate projects.

It is not typical for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the rage for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on facts and circumstances of each case.
