Job Summary
:

The Program Manager will provide direct student services by ensuring the successful implementation of the program through collaboration with school district personnel, parents, and community members regarding the Take Stock in Children volunteer mentoring and scholarship program. The Program Manager will work with staff to recruit and select students and mentors for the program, as well as execute college readiness activities and services for students in alignment with the program model and in compliance with all grant requirements. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing the program budget and supervising up to ten team members.

Minimum Qualifications
:

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in business, education, nonprofit management, or related program required.

Experience

At least 2-3 years of professional experience working in an educational/training environment.
2-3 years of experience managing/supervising teams
Demonstrated experience making presentations to audiences
2-3 years of experience ensuring programs meet compliance standards through reporting

Job Duties

Essential Duties
  • Ensure the optimal use of the HOPEforce database functionality to support TSIC programmatic goals.
  • Collaborate with staff to recruit, screen, train, and match mentors efficiently and effectively.
  • Collect, document, analyze, and report key performance indicators of programmatic success, including student data, mentor activities and participation, and student levels of college and career readiness.
  • Manage, hire, and train up to ten team members.
  • Oversee the program budget.
  • Manage the Leadership Council, including but not limited to:
    • Develop and distribute meeting agendas in collaboration with the Senior Director of Mission Programs.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between Council members and program staff, coordinating meeting schedules, tracking progress toward objectives, and maintaining compliance with the Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interest policies.
    • Prepare and circulate comprehensive meeting minutes.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Mission Programs to develop and execute the Leadership Council’s Strategic Plan.
  • Manage multiple scholarship partners, including the Florida Prepaid Foundation.
  • Cultivate relationships with donors and potential donors.
  • Maintain communication and partnerships with school districts.
  • Develop, organize, and implement workshops for staff, students, and mentors.
  • Develop and distribute programmatic materials to support students, parents, and mentors.
  • Plan annual programming for College Success Coaches and Mentor Coordinators in alignment with TSIC grant requirements.
  • Cultivate relationships with colleges, universities, and other related college success organizations to enhance student services and success.
  • Establish and maintain mentor partnerships and relationships.
  • Prepare and submit required reports.
  • Serve as the community ambassador for the Take Stock in Children program within the school system and the broader community.

  • Postsecondary degree required.
  • Passion for helping break the cycle of poverty through higher education.
  • Ability to build supportive relationships with at-risk youth.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet concurrent deadlines, organize time, and priorities, and work well as a dedicated member of a team.
  • Strong writing and speaking skills; professional demeanor in written and spoken
communication, both in person and over the phone.
  • Embody a strong connection to Take Stock in Children’s mission and value along with a desire to serve and work with diverse populations, especially disadvantaged youth.
  • Knowledge of Florida Colleges and Universities and/or college success organizations preferred.
  • Experience with data collection, analysis, and use of databases preferred.
  • Ability to attend functions in the evening and on weekends as required.
  • Have access to adequate transportation to attend off-site meetings and functions on a regular basis.

Work Environment:
  • Employees work in classroom, office and school environments
and engage in occasional travel to monthly trainings and service activities. The
employee is frequently required to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Proof of employment eligibility as required by law.
  • Proof of any diplomas or degrees indicated as a core qualification.
  • Registered sex offenders (or anyone required to register) or individuals convicted
of a felony crime are prohibited from employment with Take Stock in Children.
  • Two completed reference forms.
  • Other job duties may be assigned and/or changed based on the needs of the organization
