The Apprenticeship Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Apprenticeship Program at Goodwill of Silicon Valley (GWSV) ensuring conformance to the Apprenticeship Standards, Policies, and Procedures.
Job Responsibilities

Manage recruitment, admissions, and enrollment of GWSV employees to become registered apprentices to include:

Recruit, enroll/onboard, and register a minimum of 20 apprentices in the first year of the program from the Career Development Program (CDP) participants, retail stores, and from other business units at GWSV.

Develop marketing brochure(s), program applications, and enrollment forms

Prepare admissions application packets.

In partnership with the Manager of Employer Engagement, lead employer relations and other intermediary activities, including:

Develop relations with employers for placement of apprentices into the industry.

Ensure that the RSI coursework and training program addresses the hiring needs of local employers.
-
Develop and oversee the implementation of an Employer Engagement Plan.
-
Manage and oversee that apprentices have access to support services.
-
Define and implement the apprenticeship mentoring program.
-
Facilitate access for Apprentices to receive academic support services (e.g., tutoring) through Foothill Community College.
-
Oversee necessary training and support for District Managers, Store Directors, Store Supervisors, and other managers with the OJT work instructions, supervision and evaluation, and mentoring best practices.

Ensure high quality Related Supplemental Instruction (RSI) courses.

In partnership with Foothill College designees and the Senior Director of Strategy, Innovation, and Impact, design, develop, and oversee the implementation and improvement of the RSI work instructions and all related formal coursework learning.

Design and iterate the OJT work standards and processes as a competency hybrid on-the-job training program.

Support On-the-Job-Training (OJT) work activities and operations management needs.

Implement the OJT standards and work processes and the related evaluation system.

Create OJT evaluation forms and records.

Manage apprentice performance evaluation, pay increases, and program completion.

Oversee Strategic Partnerships, Funding, and Grant Administration.

Manage the performance and reporting requirements for the CAI grant award with Foothill College.

Oversee the California Innovation Funding registration, reporting, and reimbursements.

Seek future funding sources for the Customer Service Specialist apprenticeship program as well as funding for the planning and implementation of new apprenticeship programs at GWSV.

Create and implement an Apprenticeship Strategic Sustainability Plan.

In partnership with the Manager of Employer Engagement, establish relationships with employers to place apprentices in competitive employment jobs.

Ensure effective job coaches, employment services, and related support services are provided for successful placement and retention in the industry.

Serve as the lead point person with the Fiscal Agent (Foothill College), the Department of Labor, the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards, and all other strategic partners for performance management reporting, funding, registrations, and related areas of strategic partnership management.

Develop and implement an action plan for future apprenticeship programs at GWSV (e.g., retail apprenticeship phase 2, Warehouse and Logistics, e-commerce, etc.)
Responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally either orally or in writing.
Requirements

5 years of previous experience in managing programs that require collaboration, support, and deliverables from a broad range of cross functional teams in a corporate environment.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders.

There is regular contact with the public. The position requires minimal supervision.
Physical requirements

The job involves sedentary work, which requires lifting no more than 10 lbs and/or occasional lifting and carrying items such as file folders, ledgers and small tools. Much of the work is done while seated; occasional periods of time are spent standing up or walking.
Salary : $85,000 - $90,000
