Major Responsibilities:

At the direction of the Manager or Supervisor, provide work direction to plant personnel and will assist in the training of new employees.

At the direction of the Manager supervisor, will act as a liaison between Plant operations and other operations departments or Retail stores. Daily, complete a variety of paperwork pertaining to department employees and daily operations.

Maintains lines of communication, both vertically and laterally, in the organization.
-
Accountable for As-Is cash funds when opening/closing the register without management supervision.
-
Will be responsible for proper cash handling procedures.
-
Maintain positive management / employee relations; reporting any problems/complaints immediately to the Director of Operations.
-
Maintains and seeks ways to increase effectiveness within the range of job responsibility and constantly endeavors to reduce waste, both of material and personnel/time types.
-
Maintains proper department layout and ensures adequate work/product flow.
-
Become familiar with and use proper handling techniques and equipment to ensure safe handling of merchandise.
-
Fill in for absent employees when needed to maintain department output.
-
Follow and enforce plant policies and procedures as well as general company policies.
-
Awareness of possible damage, theft or potential safety hazards, reporting observations immediately to store manager.
-
Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic ability to read and write in English
Education Required:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience/knowledge Required:
-
Multifaceted experience in operations. Minimum of 6 months positive performance within current operations areas.
Equipment Used:
-
Pushcarts, boxes, barrels, hand trucks, scale, clothing/display racks, forklift, baler, compactor, cash register, ten-key or calculator, telephone, personal computer, printer and fax machine
Aptitudes/skills/temperament:

Ability and willingness to back-up and assist the Manager – Retail or the Manager of Operations as requested.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with co-workers, staff and the public.

Ability to understand and communicate clearly in English

Ability to instruct new employees and/or client in the operational procedure and explain the policies as related to the job, as requested.

Ability to tactfully explain decisions or present information clearly.

Ability to perform arithmetic, and count money/change quickly and accurately.

Ability to learn and accurately perform opening/closing procedures, cash register operation, bank deposit procedure and related paperwork as it pertains to store operations.

Ability to coordinate hand-eye-foot movements to safely handle and/or move merchandise to minimize damage, eliminating hazards and accidents/injuries.

Ability to move hands and fingers quickly to operate cash register.
-
Ability to understand and accept directions and follow procedures.
-
Ability to perform both repetitive and varied duties without loss of composure or efficiency.
Job Setting:
-
Work is performed in an enclosed storeroom floor. The area is heated and ventilated. Stores have a receiving area where work is performed on a daily basis.

Working/standing surface is uniform. Dust and dirt are controlled by daily cleaning and are insignificant.
-
Noise and vibrations are not significant; however radios and televisions may be turned on.
Physical demands:
-
Steady work pace with constant standing and walking. The job involves light physical work demands requiring lifting 50lbs maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing 25 lbs. Large or heavy items are moved by using appropriate material handling equipment and/or with assistance from co-worker. Safety handling procedures must be followed.

Normal or corrected talking, hearing, and seeing abilities are sufficient to perform required tasks.
