EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Not-for-Profit Management, or related field. Prior professional experience that includes leadership development, contract management, strategy development, fundraising, and community engagement.
Experience with developing strategies, negotiating, leading change, public speaking, and developing teams. Prior non-profit experience required. Knowledge and use of current social media, Office 365, and its applications.
Computer Skills
Experience working with donor data base software, preferably Raiser’s Edge. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and current social media platforms.
Interpersonal Skills
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Language Skills
Strong ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations at a high level. Produces professional reports, business correspondence, proposals, and procedure manuals. Presents information in a professional manner and responds to questions from groups of managers, personnel, regulators and the general public. Good writing and presentation skills necessary.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to read financial reports.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Current driver's license. Use of personal auto required.

- Donated goods for retail sales
- Monetary donations, major gifts and planned gifts
- Federal, state, local or corporate grants
- Internal or external work placement opportunities and/or;
- Growing the Organization’s mission and persons served metric
- Coordinates regular contact and stewardship with community stakeholders.
- Assist with and strategically plan, implement, and evaluate the Organization’s development, fundraising and agency partnership initiatives to assure continued support of the community with regards to the overall mission.
- In coordination with the Marketing Department, strategizes and oversees preparation of informative and creative materials to market to consumers, volunteers, staff, local foundations, etc.
- Insures appropriateness of all communications to donors and to align all fundraising activities to support the development strategy.
- Provide a compelling description of the Organization’s value proposition.
- Assist with the coordination of the Organization’s special events such as the annual golf tournament and Fantasy of Lights holiday fundraiser.
- Ensure the message given portrays the Organization in the best position as possible.
- Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within the region in order to inform and further the mission of Goodwill of Southern New England.
- Ensure Organization representation at appropriate community events/functions.
- Participates in organization-wide planning and regular communication with leadership team and Board of Directors.
- Contributes to the overall success of the organization including support of Organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.
