POSITION SUMMARY:
The Transportation Dispatcher coordinates and manages efficient movement of vehicles, drivers, and shipments to meet operational schedules and customer needs. Plans routes, monitors real-time logistics, communicates with drivers and clients, and addresses issues that arise to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency. Maintains accurate records, monitors compliance, safety, and regulatory standards, and plays a critical role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the transportation network.
Duties will also include but are not limited to:
- Create and manage daily delivery schedules for internal and external clients
- Track and monitor fleet activity using transportation management systems
- Serves as the primary point of contact for drivers during their shifts
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including routes, delivery times, and incidents
- Schedule vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs in collaboration with the Administrative Assistant and Senior Manager
- Maintain a current and up-to-date understanding of and comply with all company policies and procedures
Hiring Range: $17.00-$19.00/hour
Travel: Local travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of all applicable local, state and federal codes/regulations as well as DOL guidelines. Proficiency with Microsoft office applications as well as using internet tools and resources.
REQUIRED CLEARANCES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Candidates are expected to provide current, valid clearances (Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprints Clearance, and PATCH).
