Goodwill of the Heartland is hiring for a Sustainability Manager at the Headquarters office in Cedar Rapids!

Responsibilities:
- Execute the sustainability plan with a cross-functional team to lead the organization toward the goal of zero-waste.
- Establish holistic sustainability metrics to align priorities and measure the impact of new initiatives relating to donated goods, energy efficiency, material procurement and facilities.
- Educate and engage team members collaboratively, driving sustainable business practices across the organization in partnership with leaders and their priorities.
- Gather and analyze data about agency waste to identify new opportunities for landfill diversion, reuse, and recycling.
- Explore new markets for reusing unsold donated goods to promote a circular economy.
- Grow partnerships with community organizations in the waste and recycling industry.
- Pursue grants to support new waste reduction projects and fund infrastructure needs.
- Learn from other Goodwill organizations with innovative programs.
- Work closely with the Facility Manager on building upgrade plans to ensure all workspaces are eco-friendly.
- Collaborate with Marketing to communicate the environmental impact of Goodwill’s sustainability efforts to community stakeholders.
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a sustainability-related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in environmental sustainability or related field required.
- Demonstrated strategic project management skills.
- Experience with cultivating a sustainability culture and driving sustainable business practices into decisions and processes throughout the organization.

Salary : $54,939 - $61,807
