Position Summary : The Custodian reports to the Store Manager and is responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior appearance and functionality of the store to the standards expected by Tacoma Goodwill Industries and its customers. Core responsibilities include daily custodial cleaning, routine maintenance work in plumbing, electrical, wall repair and painting, or related work, floor maintenance and any other duties assigned by the Manager that support the success of the store.
Must be available to work graveyard shift start time between 4pm and 7pm, finishing between 12am and 3am.
Hourly Rate : $16.66 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : The Custodian responsibilities Includes the following and other duties as assigned :
- Empties and removes trash and recycling from the interior and exterior of the building.
- Cleans production / donations and loading dock areas.
- Cleans glass doors, mirrors and windows
- Maintains inventories and requisitions supplies and equipment.
- Repairs door hardware, windows, tables, desks, chairs, cabinets, etc.
- Repairs holes in walls and
- Replace interior and exterior light bulbs.
Keeps Floors Maintained
Cleans floors using electric powered janitorial tools such as vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, and floor scrubbers. Additionally, sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors, dusts furniture and high areas; empties and cleans ash trays and wastebaskets; polishes furniture and metal fixtures; washes windows; vacuums and spot cleans rugs and floor mats.
Maintains Restrooms
Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and break rooms including sinks, toilet bowls, urinals, stalls and floors and keeps them supplied with toilet paper, soap, and dispensers filled.
Maintains Clean Exterior Environment
Manages the exterior environment of the building by removing gum, trash, cigarette butts, and washing walkways.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Not required for this position.

Physical Demands : Including but not limited to working on ladders, lifts, and / or scaffolding, operating hand tools and equipment including vacuums, ops, floor polishers / cleaners, working indoors / outdoors in all types of weather, and working with cleaning and other related chemicals.
Work Environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts, with fumes or airborne particles, with toxic or caustic chemicals, under outdoor weather conditions, and with risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
