About the Role
Join the Goodwill team as a Student Support Specialist, where you’ll play a pivotal role in empowering individuals with barriers to employment. By providing case management, vocational services, and community support, you’ll help participants achieve their career and educational goals.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education, Sociology, or a related field (required).
- Experience: Preferred one year of experience in case management or vocational services for individuals with employment barriers.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in standard computer programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and internet use.
- Clearances: Must pass all required background checks, including Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, and DHS-FBI Fingerprint.
- Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation. An operating telephone is required for timely communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct participant orientations, outreach, recruitment, and intake services.
- Develop and implement service plans tailored to participant goals.
- Coordinate services with other staff and community resources.
- Provide career planning, case management, and workforce readiness training.
- Assist participants in addressing barriers such as childcare and transportation.
- Facilitate group and individual mentoring sessions.
- Track participant progress and document outcomes.
