This Position’s Key Responsibilities Include
- Greets and interacts with customers. Answers customers’ questions about merchandise.
- Rotates in different areas throughout the store as directed by management.
- Performs store opening and closing procedures including, but not limited to, securing all cash, ensuring security of the building by locking all doors and conducting bag checks.
- Prepares and processes deposits.
- Collects payment using the store’s POS. Operates the POS to ensure accurate and efficient sales data, price, and information codes on merchandise. Adheres to the Agency’s Cash Handling Policies and Processes.
- Facilitates the flow of goods by receiving, moving and placing carts, containers and barrels containing donations, trash, and as-is for processing in designated areas.
- Places apparel, wares, shoes, accessories, etc., onto sales floor in correct location and rotates merchandise from sales floor as needed.
- Assists with quality and safety control assurance.
- Maintains a clean, neat and organized sales floor. This includes, but is not limited to, cleaning front doors, counters, floors and glass, cleaning bathrooms and dressing rooms, dusting fixtures, returning shopping carts, baskets and unsold merchandise to the proper areas.
- Assists with all departmental functions as needed to include, but not limited to, customer service, cash register sales, greeting and assisting customers, displaying merchandise, cleaning cash wrap area, counters, and front of store, and rotating merchandise of the outlet store.
- Maintains work areas in a neat and orderly manner with clean-up activities performed throughout the day.
- Maintains established productivity goals without loss of quality of work.

- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year of retail experience.
- Experience leading a team highly preferred.
- Requires reading, writing, and math skills which include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Knowledgeable with a PC with windows-based software environment and various software to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet access and use of e-mail.
- Reliable vehicle with valid NYS driver’s license and the ability to travel to stores in Erie, Niagara and Genesee County.

- Ability to direct a team following the Agency’s objectives to meet production goals.
