What are the responsibilities and job description for the Key Holder (Store Associate) position at Goodwill of WNY?
THE POSITION
This position’s key responsibilities include:
- Performs store opening and closing procedures which includes, but is not limited to, ensuring security of the building by locking and setting alarms.
- Trains Store Associates on job duties as necessary.
- Acts as the Manager on Duty when the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is unavailable.
- Greets and interacts with customers. Demonstrates and explains merchandise, selects and suggests options suitable for the customers’ needs, and answers customers’ questions about merchandise.
- Collects payment using the store point of sale system.
- Prices and tags goods according to retail policy and restocks sales floor as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS (The stuff you must have)
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one (1) year or retail experience highly preferred.
- Schedule flexibility.
- Is reliable and consistently comes to work on time and as scheduled.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and reach for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds with no support regularly.
- Able to perform tasks that require repetitive motion (ie: tagging or hanging clothes). Manual dexterity is required.
COMPENSATION:
Goodwill regularly evaluates our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. Starting pay will be based on a candidate’s experience, skills and education.
The pay range for this position is $16.00/hr- -$18.00/hr
