JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Manager in the coordination of HR programs including day-to-day administration of company policies and procedures for recruiting, onboarding, employee files and databases, benefits, personnel policies, affirmative action, regulatory compliance and safety programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for agency recruiting functions to include job postings, screening applicants, assisting managers through the hiring process, managing pre-employment processes, posting internal openings, attending job fairs and interviewing as requested.
- Responsible for I-9 file maintenance and compliance.
- Responsible for required state & federal reports and Affirmative Action Plan.
- Welcome new employees to the organization by sending offer letters, completing onboarding paperwork, and scheduling/assisting with new hire orientation.
- Assist with monitoring leaves of absences and returns to work under FMLA, ADA or Goodwill leave programs.
- Assist with administering various employee benefit programs, such as group health, dental, vision, flexible spending account, life and disability insurance and retirement plans and ensure benefit changes are entered accurately and timely for payroll deduction.
- Keep employee records up to date in HRIS by processing employee changes in a timely manner.
- Maintain hard-copy and electronic personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Answer employee questions and address employee concerns.
- Compile required HR reports.
- Assist with tuition reimbursement process.
- Assist with responding to unemployment claims and represent Goodwill in appeal hearings.
- Cross train into other areas of HR to serve as a back-up for other Human Resource Team Members.
- Meet or exceed attendance expectations for this position.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field required
- One (1) to two (2) years of Human Resources experience required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required
- Knowledge of HRMS software preferred

- First Aid & CPR certification
